About Me

How it all started

10 years ago........

My name is Carla Champlin and I live in the country in Preston, CT. I have always been

creative. When I needed to relieve my stress and boredom, I decided to find a hobby. I

remembered my friend's mother trying to teach us macrame when we were about 9 yrs.old.

I liked it but of course at age 9 that lasted all of about 20 minutes. She let me take my

short little strand I had started home with me. I looked at it from time to time and wished

I had paid more attention to what she had taught me as I wanted to do more. Again, being 9 yrs old

those thoughts were fleeting.

So when I started searching for something to do I went to our local craft store. I was overwhelmed. I

wanted to do everything! I found a hemp jewelry kit. It was just like macrame. I bought it, brought it

home and dove in. I was hooked! Before I knew it I had so much jewelry it was everywhere. My

family and friends told me I should sell it.

That lead to doing craft shows. I met a lot of people and had so much fun I couldn't wait to do more

shows. I had many people looking for me after my shows wanting to make another purchase. Most

asked if I had a website. Website? Hmmmmm...

Before I knew it, I started picking up and refining new skills. That led to many more enjoyable

projects.

So, here I am 10 years later. I opened my first on-line store selling my hemp jewelry 8 years ago.

When I started doing my other crafts, I opened this site in 2001. I love my craft projects and work

very hard to make them. I make sure they are done well and people will be pleased with their

purchase.

Best of all.........my stress is relieved, boredom no longer exists and I have many new friends all

around the world. Craft gifts are unique and make great gifts. The recipient will be happy to receive

a handmade, thoughtful gift instead of that run of the mill present off the shelves. I hope you enjoy my site.
